I was born in the heart of the Italian chair manufacturing area. In 1971, aged 19, I decided to become an artisan. Since then I’ve dedicated my life to making chairs. I visit the responsibly managed woods which provide our wood. I opted for solar energy for our production processes. I’m at the side of my staff every day as they carefully and skilfully build our chairs. We’ve always been committed to a well-made product with respect for the environment, the workers involved and the trust of those who choose this product. This experience has produced Origins 1971, a new design project with deep roots.

OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
We are FSC certified, with wood from responsibily managed European forests. We use emission-reduced water-based finishes and glue. More than 70% of the packaging used consists of recycled material and is 100% recyclable.

We generate more solar power than required for the production of our Palma and Origins1971 brands. The workplaces are heated thanks to wood leftover from the production process. Water used in the production process is treated as a precious resource. Over 80% of the waste produced is recovered and recycled.
Our employees work in a safe way and have more rights than those set out in Italian work contracts.The key principle of our Ethical Code is mutual respect between employees, suppliers and customers, together with rejecting and reporting all forms of discrimination or harassment.
Origins 1971 is a versatile and flexible tool for furnishing any room, from contract to residential, in line with every design, context and aspiration. A complete range of chairs, small armchairs, stools, armchairs of all sizes and sofas which share the solid basic technical concepts, designed to allow the most widely differing variations on the seating theme. By choosing from among different shapes, colours and types of upholstery each one can create their own ideal solution, virtually without limits. All this with a style which interprets the original meaning of seating as an item of furniture, a presence which is not an end in itself but able to meet specific needs with elegant and fully researched simplicity.
